TRAVEL GRANT APPLICATION GUIDELINES
● Applicants must submit an abstract to be considered for a Travel Grant. See requirements and information regarding abstract submission.
● Travel grants are available for:
○ Early Career Scientists and Researchers
■ Such as Ph.D. students, post-doc/fellows , medical residents or certified specialists
with no more than 3 years practice
○ Researchers from Low- and Middle-Income Countries
■ Definition based on World Bank
● Proof of eligibility is required for Early Career Scientists and Researchers
○ Must upload documentation of their institution’s letterhead with a letter from the department
head confirming their current position
● The applications will be selected based on the following criteria:
○ Minimum of 40 travel grants available for LMICs
○ Other applications will be selected based on the quality of the abstract.
● Applicants must have affiliation with the field. All applicants must currently work or study in the field of respiratory
infectious diseases, and must provide information regarding position/title.
● One application per registrant.

POST SELECTION PROCESS FOR TRAVEL GRANT RECIPIENTS
If you are selected to receive a travel grant for RSVVW 2019 you will receive a notification via email by July 1st, 2019.
The recipient will be asked to provide his/her bank account information to process the travel grant amount. The amount will be paid in a lump sum (dependent on location of departure - see chart below) to cover all costs (flight, accommodation, visa and registration). The recipient is personally responsible to use lump sum to arrange their flight, accommodation, visa and registration.
Travel grant recipients are required to present their poster during the conference days and are personally responsible for printing, shipping, and set-up of posters.
