RSV Awareness Week 2022!
From Monday the 7th of November up and till Friday the 11th of November, we were campaigning for more awareness about RSV. This year, our theme is: “Share to be Aware!”, advocating for everyone to share their experiences with RSV. |

To conclude the RSV Awareness Week 2022 "Share to Be Aware" we present our brand new educational animation about RSV in Older Adults. RSV infections can be dangerous for adults with underlying diseases. Every year, an estimated number of 360.000 older adults are hospitalised worldwide and 24.000 of them die due to RSV infection. Strategies to prevent RSV infectionHow can you reduce the risk of RSV infection? When is your child at highest risk for a severe infection? How about siblings? Dr. Natalie Mazur, paediatric resident in training, has obtained her PhD on RSV. She will share with us how RSV is spreading, on which surfaces it can survive longest, and what the best strategies are for preventing RSV.

To raise and spread awareness, we have launched a ‘RSV Mortality Awareness’ campaign at the start of the RSVVW 2019 conference on November 12, 2019, by sharing a personal video entitled “Why we should all know about RSV” about Simone van Wyck, a mother, who lost her son from RSV. The RSV awareness video was produced in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
