What is a visa? And why do I need one?
A visa is a stamp that is affixed to a blank visa page in one's passport. The visa is required by some foreign countries before one is able to enter their territory.
When should I apply for my visa?
Your visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, therefore, apply only within 90 days of the date of travel. For RSVVW 2019, you can apply for your visa from August 15th, 2019 onward.
How long does the visa application process take?
This depends on the type of application process you choose, however, we recommend that all guests carefully read through and prepare all necessary paperwork as soon as possible.
What kind of visa should I apply for?
You can apply for: SINGLE-ENTRY TOURIST (B-2) VISA or SINGLE-ENTRY BUSINESS (B-1) VISA
Please note that different visas have different requirements. This is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.
How can I apply for my visa?
Depending on your country, there are 3 different ways to apply for your visa:
Visiting a local embassy, consulate or high commission
Online application
Visa on arrival / emergency visa
We recommend all guests that are able to apply through option 1 and 2 to do so.
AT YOUR COUNTRY’S EMBASSY OR CONSULATE Ghana entry visas are obtainable from any Ghana Embassy, High Commission or Consulate abroad. Check online at your country’s Ghanaian embassy or consulate to see what the procedure is for your country.
ONLINE APPLICATION In many countries there is an online application possible to apply for your visa. Check online at your country’s Ghanaian embassy or consulate to see what the procedure is for your country.
VISA ON ARRIVAL / EMERGENCY VISA Visa on Arrival/ Emergency Visa is an expedited service to attain your visa. It is usually valid between 14 to 30 days. A person can obtain a visa on arrival by applying to the Comptroller-General of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) in advance of arrival on behalf of the foreign national by other national’s host with the Director of Immigration. The Visa on Arrival costs approximately $150.00 USD excluding fees for the third party services.
Please note - applications for Visa on Arrivals or any application for a visa can be deniedwith reasons. Therefore, we recommend this option only for participants when necessary (no embassy in country, no online application possible, etc.).

What documents do I need to apply?
1. Passport (check validity) You must provide your actual signed passport. Your passport must:
Be valid for the next six months
Have at least one blank visa page (amendments and endorsement pages cannot be used to fulfill this requirement)
Not be frayed, torn, separating, or altered in any other way
2. Photographs You must provide two color, passport-type photographs that meets the following criteria:
Be taken within the last three months and printed on high-quality photo paper
Be taken against an all white background
Be two inches by two inches
Provide the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression
You may wear neither eyeglasses nor headwear except for religious purposes
Your photos should not be affixed to your application and it may not display evidence of adhesive tape or staples
3. Letter of Invitation You can download the ReSViNET Foundation’s template letter below and fill in the information accordingly.
Once you have completed filling out your information, please send the form back to rsvresvinet@gmail.com to be authenticated with a digital signature.
5. Proof of Travel Arrangements You must provide proof of travel arrangements for the duration of your trip. Details of your intended arrangements must:
Include a copy of an itinerary or e-ticket that displays your round trip travel and entry and exit dates for your destination
Show the traveler's full name (as printed in his or her passport)
6. An international certificate of vaccination for Yellow Fever 7. Visa Application Form Provided by your country’s Ghanaian embassy/consulate/high commission. Usually can be found online.
Do I need to submit my passport to receive a visa?
Yes, when applying via your local Ghanaian embassy and/or online application, one’s passport must be submitted with the required paperwork and current passport photo in order to obtain a visa for traveling to Ghana.

There is no Ghanaian Embassy/Consulate in my country - What now?
If there is no Ghanaian Embassies, Consulates and High Commissions in your country we recommend to apply for a Visa on Arrival.
What vaccines are required?
Only Yellow Fever vaccination is obligatory (received within 10 years of visit).
Please carry proof of vaccination. All travelers are required to present a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate at the port of entry in Ghana.
