FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - VISA

TIP - Registration/ Accommodation
Before starting your visa application, please make sure to register here for RSVVW'23.

Additionally, it is recommended to book your accommodation as soon as possible. You are required to provide this information as part of your visa application. If you received a travel grant, please contact us at info@resvinet.org to provide you with your booking confirmation.
Do I need a Schengen Visa to enter Portugal?
While there are categories and nationals of countries that are privileged with entering the Schengen visa-free zone, there are also other categories and nationals, which have to go through all the processes of meeting requirements and attending interviews, in order to obtain a visa that grants them the permission to enter the Schengen Area.

When should I apply for my visa? How long does the visa application process take?
The process for Visa application can take up to 30 days, and in some cases 60 days. Please start your visa application timely.
What documents can ReSViNET provide?
Contact us at info@resvinet.org to let us know you are applying for a visa. We will provide you with the following documents:
  1. Letter of Invitation
  2. Registration Confirmation
  3. For RSVVW'23 faculty members and travel grant recipients only: Hotel Booking Confirmation ​

1. Letter of Invitation
  1. Please download the template of the letter via the button below and complete it with the necessary information. 
  2. Send the completed to info@resvinet.org for a signature.
  3. You will receive the signed Letter of Invitation in a return email.

2. Registration Confirmation
You should have received your registration confirmation when you finalised the payment for the conference registration. Please send us an email at info@resvinet.org if you did not receive a registration confirmation.

​3. For RSVVW'23 faculty members and travel grant recipients only: Hotel Booking Confirmation 
The hotel booking is arranged by ReSViNET for faculty members and travel grant recipients only.
Do I need to submit my passport to receive a visa?
Yes, when applying via your local Portuguese embassy and/or online application, one’s passport must be submitted with the required paperwork and current passport photo in order to obtain a visa for traveling to Portugal.
TIP - Make Sure to Check the Validity of Passport
Please ensure that your passport is at least 6 months of validity remaining when you apply for your visa.

Have at least one blank visa page.
